Power Regulator circuit technical description

This circuit board takes 6 to 30 volts AC or DC as input.  If necessary, it rectifies AC to DC and filters the result, then regulates it's output to a fixed +5 volts DC.  The closely regulated 5 volt output can be used to power up to ten Signal Controller circuits.  Typically, only one Power Regulator circuit will be needed on a small or medium sized layout.  Additional circuits can be added if many more signals will be lighted.

The power regulator can safely supply up to a half amp of DC.  It is equipped with  a thermal shutdown that will protect it in case of an accidental short circuit or current draws in excess of an amp.
