Glossary
- Block
- A section of track between two signals. The section of track is
under one control and usually accommodates only one train at a time. In model
railroading, these are usually isolated electrical circuits.
- An analog
model
railroad block will often have a Cab switch that allows only one of the available
power packs to have control of the block at a time.
- A digital layout may need to be broken down into blocks strictly for
purposes of signaling.
