True2scale
Train modeling components
This True2scale collection is an assortment of electronic components
that can be used for model railroading. Train signals and automobile traffic
lights in N or HO scale can be custom made by special order. A Boxcar Charging System
for G scale battery-powered locomotives can also be custom made by special order.
Note that these are not premanufactured items on the shelf for sale.
They will be specially manufactured as demand dictates so expect a few weeks for manufacture and delivery.

The Boxcar Charging System consists of components to complement your G scale Aristocraft battery
boxcar system by simplifying recharging of batteries and providing a warning beacon when batteries
are running low.
The True2scale traffic lights model an automobile intersection with
operating traffic lights. Two components are available to model an
intersection.
- Traffic Light Posts
- Light posts which contain red, yellow and green traffic lights.
One pair would control the North and South bound traffic while the other
pair controls the East and West bound traffic.
A non-lighted variation can also be purchased for an intersection where
only the back of a light post can be seen by a viewer of the layout.
- Traffic Light Controller circuit
- This is a circuit board that performs the timing functions and drives the traffic lights in a manner
similar to a typical four-way automobile intersection..
The True2scale Signaling circuits are a collection of electronic
circuits for setting up working train signal lights on an HO or N scale model train
layout. The signal system automatically detects the presence of trains
and adjusts the signal lights to model prototypical signal
operations. The circuits can be used on either Analog or Digital train
layouts.
To equip a model train layout with operating signal lights you would use four components.
These are purchased separately to match the needs of your layout. The four
components are described below, or you can link to details
of wiring a layout.
- Signal Light Towers.
- Towers containing lights, usually red, yellow,
and green light emitting diodes (LEDs). They will be set up beside the track to be visible to
a train engineer as a train approaches the signal. The signal lights
to be used may be purchased separately. To be used with this system,
they must be wired as common anode LEDs. That is, the positive side of
the LEDs must be wired together to a common lead.
- Signal Controllers
- These are electronic circuits that turn the red, yellow, or green lights
on or off in the signal towers. Which light is lit is dependent
upon presence or absence of trains as determined by Train Detectors.
- Detectors.
- These are electronic circuits that are connected into the wires that
supply electricity to the tracks to power the trains. The detector determines
if a train
is present by sensing the flow of electricity which moves the train or lights it's light.
- Power Regulator
- At least one 5 Volt Power Regulator circuits will be needed to provide
power to the Signal Controllers and Detectors.
