Cemetery Management System Version 3.0
This new system was released near the end of September 2000. Current owners of version 2.0
are offered a free upgrade. (A small shipping and handling fee will be charged)
Major Enhancements
- Import-Export capability with field and filter selectivity.
- Now you can export your cemetery information for use in your favorite word processor or other programs. Filters
allow you to select the types of records to export and field selections let you extract only that information which
is needed. Properly prepared input files can also be imported.
- User code field added to plots, owners and payments records.
- Now you can add your own codes to flag records in your data base which have special meaning to you.
- Effective Date field added to Owner records.
- Attaching an effective date to the owner record will allow multiple owners to be
recorded thereby tracking a history of ownership of a plot.
- New keystroke during data entry for duplication.
- Function key F5 duplicates the current field from the previously
entered record during creation of a NEW record. The same key will
restore a data field to it's original contents when performing and
EDIT on a record.
- "Printer..." buttons added to report printing dialog boxes.
- These give more control over your printer setup when printing reports and make it easier to use any of several
printers.
- More indexes allow viewing of plot list in Burial, Birth, or Death date order.
- Two clicks of a control will resort your list of plots in any of
several sequences.
- Allow long reports to print a range of pages.
- When a long print run fails, you can now go back in to print the report and selectively print only a range
of pages. This is designed to help when in the middle of a long
print run, your printer becomes a shredder.
- Reports modified to allow small margins on all types of printers.
- This technique allows reports to be printed more similarly even on dissimilar printers.
- Portrait/Landscape options available on more reports.
- More reports now allow you to select either portrait or landscape format.
- Deed Number added to deeds.
- A sequential deed number is assigned to deeds whenever they are
printed. Counting is automatic, with a user-specified starting
number.
- Deed date added on deed dialog to allow user changes from current date.
- When printing deeds, it is now possible to print a deed for a date other
than the current date.
- Clarity added on the Backup form.
- A caption now reads "Backup to:" or "Restore from:"
to eliminate some confusion.
- Re-Index function added to File Menu.
- A Re-Index function is now available to rebuild file indexes.
This should greatly simplify file recoveries when files are damaged by
unexpected power failures or other system crashes.
- Convert program will update from either version 1.8 files or version 2.0 files.
- The conversion program that comes with the system will update your files
whether you are running the previous version (2.0) or the one prior to
that (version 1.8) This will probably be the last support offered
for version 1.8.
- Serial number is externalized so all shipped discs are identical.
- Mostly an internal technical concern, this positions us to ship
CD-ROMs with the software and to offer down-loadable trial versions.
Field sizes enlarged.
- Plot/Maiden field expanded from 10 to 25 characters.
- Plot/Xnm filed expanded from 8 to 15 characters.
- Owner/City field expanded from 12 to 25 characters.
- Owner/Zip field expanded from 5 to 10 characters.
